You will be amazed when you find out why the children put a jacket on a pole!

Despite the fact that before the start of the winter holidays it's still almost a month, one woman and a whole bunch of kids in Canada have already shown the whole world what a real Christmas spirit is. Concerned about the fate of the homeless on chilly and cold winter days, Tara Smith-Atkins, her 8-year-old daughter, and seven of their friends gathered warm winter jackets and tied them to street pillars throughout the city of Halifax so they could be worn by people who have nowhere to hide from the harsh winter weather.

Such a good deed, the woman offered to make the kids on the eighth birthday of her daughter. “They certainly understood the importance of this,” Smith-Atkins said. “When we got back into the car, after spending an hour on the street, they all really wanted to warm themselves and complained about the terrible cold.”

Not so long ago, the residents of Halifax witnessed such a strange sight:

Tara Smith-Atkins' daughter and her friends hung winter jackets on street poles so that homeless people could use warm clothes.

This wonderful thing was a great way to celebrate the girl’s eighth birthday.

“They certainly understood the importance of this,” Smith-Atkins said.

"When we got back into the car, after spending an hour on the street, they all really wanted to warm themselves and complained about the terrible cold."

The family for several weeks gathered warm jackets among their friends and acquaintances.
