Message from the bottom of the Black Sea: what the future of the Soviet people 50 years ago

People of the Soviet era were preparing a gift for their descendants for the 100th anniversary of the Great October Revolution. They sealed the time capsule, which had to be opened in the fall of 2017.

In September 2017, a time capsule was removed from the bottom of the Black Sea, which was located at the base of the Sujuk lighthouse for 50 years.

This is what the capsule looks like.

From its contents, lovingly collected messages and artifacts, it was decided to organize an exhibition. She began her work on October 2 at the Novorossiysk Historical Museum.

In general, the safety of all things is amazing - not a single sign of mold or other damage from long storage. Everything looks like it was packed yesterday.

Many photos and letters were not included in this article because they are glossy or laminated; when photographing in an exhibition, there are a lot of glare.

Extremely many letters have been written to the future generation - hundreds and hundreds. Even just capturing them - it already takes a lot of time, reading them is still more difficult.

Many letters are written in simple pencil. But what are they all inspired!

In general, the exhibition causes a storm of emotions - mixed and strong. The sense of scale of that era is mixed with the feeling of its naivety, but bright, not at all that stupidity of a philistine simpleton. The hopes and dreams of people of that era are inspiring.
