How is Halloween in Hong Kong

After ten days in China, I arrived in Hong Kong. It’s like China, too, but not really. For example, the great Chinese firewall does not work here and there is no censorship. Facebook's drunken air of freedom played a trick on me: I completely forgot that people are celebrating Halloween this weekend.

Fortunately, residents and tourists of Hong Kong quickly reminded me of this:

In the evening I decided to pay a visit to the hangout area of Lan Kwai Fong - there are a lot of cereal establishments located a couple of blocks away, and on weekends people walk lively here. There were crowds this time too.

Since Hong Kong is a very three-dimensional city, these walks can always be photographed from above:

These are relatively small Sunday gatherings. After all, tomorrow people need to work.

There were a lot of people with make-up faces. For someone it was just paint, and some got confused with all kinds of scars, wounds, etc.

Of course, everyone went and took pictures with each other. A lot of selfies were shot here.

People in suits also took pictures of others.

There were also professionals in the crowd. They vigilantly looked around in search of colorful frames and characters.

Although the most colorful tried to photograph absolutely everything.

Cute girls are always in demand.

And large groups in good coordinated costumes also enjoyed great success.

And also loners in very elaborate costumes, like this Iron Man.

Young pirate.

Some people were clearly not as prepared for the celebration as I was.

Fortunately, for those right on the streets, enterprising locals organized face-painting salons. Here is a guy holding a menu of options.

For little money they put you in a chair and decorate it right on the spot.

Both young and old used the services.

By the way, my aunt was well prepared.

People in interesting outfits were constantly approached by those who wanted to take pictures.

In general, everyone willingly agreed. No one was against taking another picture.

Masks here also sell. How much will you take? Five? Seven? Buy more!

Meanwhile, people sat in bars along the edges of the crowded streets. Some were turned to face the street to better observe people.

Another was a drum for costumes, they were carried away by some important conversations.

In front of each bar there was a shout that almost tried to force passers-by to his place. From the outside it looked very comical.

For those who can’t afford the drinks in these bars, 7-11 sell alcohol cheaply. It is much cheaper, especially since Lan Kwai Fonge can be drunk on the street. A bunch of young people are standing with bottles of beer, not embarrassed by the police.
