Only one train car was designed in this style in connection with a kind of advertising campaign. Original decor was developed in honor of the completion of the reconstruction of the Kannon Hall in the Ninna-ji Temple. This amazing place is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and is now available for visiting.

The exterior of the vehicle is also adorned with portraits of the thousand-armed Kannon, who is considered the main deity of Ninna-ji. And inside the car you can find other signs and symbols associated with Buddhism.

Kannon is the bodhisattva and goddess of mercy. At the very beginning in Sanskrit, she was known as Avalokiteshvara or Padmapani. The Bodhisattva transformed into Guanyin in China and into Cannon in Japan.
