Abstract Warsaw: an unexpected look at the Polish capital

Everyone who has been to Warsaw will confirm: this is a city with history, atmosphere and character. The German Max Leitner is also convinced of the unique beauty and mood of the Polish capital. However, he did not take the city as we expect it to be. In Leitner’s pictures you will not find either old cathedrals, or houses and pavers from past centuries. The photographer decided to show that Warsaw is able to appear before us very modern and dynamic.

To add space to the frames, Max armed with a wide-angle lens, and in order to avoid static, he invited Benny Grams to take part in his photo project.

In this series of works, Max Leitner focuses on the beauty of the lines of urban architecture.

The photographer created a kind of visual deception. Looking at the pictures, you don’t immediately understand what exactly is happening here: whether Grams is running on a vertical surface, is in free fall or is he levitating under the ceiling of a skyscraper. Max skillfully manipulates the perception of the audience.
