Trees are like people: unforgettable portraits of trees by Michael Kenna
Michael Kenna is a legendary, incredibly talented photographer who creates ... portraits. That's right, portraits. Indeed, otherwise his mysterious and sometimes even mystical photographs of trees cannot be called. The fact is that in each picture a lonely tree, grove or forest appears as unique personalities, silent guardians of many stories. Somehow, Kenna manages to make ordinary plants, which we see everywhere every day, acquire individuality, character, mood and create an atmosphere through his lens.
To this day, Kenna works exclusively with film, taking pictures on the iconic Hasselblad and creating these impressive, slightly blurry photos in her dark room for hours. The photographer travels around the world in search of new "heroes" of his shootings, and most of the pictures were taken with a shutter speed of 10 hours or more, which makes the frame so amazing.
