Krasnaya Etna: factory with machine guns

One of the oldest factories in Nizhny Novgorod. It has a rich history that began in 1896. The heyday came in the 60s. Now on the vast territory of the plant there are 7 large workshops. The company is still trying to survive and produce something, but most of it is simply abandoned. Huge factory squares with countless old machines. Nothing was taken out, everything is worth it. Feels like nothing has happened to the plant in recent years. The real stagnation.

A beautiful modern site does not display a fraction of the current state of the plant’s territory. They really liked the description in the About Us section: a modern, dynamically developing enterprise, one of the most experienced suppliers of parts. He smiled, because now there are machines of the 60s, and leaking roofs, and entire abandoned or destroyed workshops.

I first saw such an amount of oil. It is everywhere! It feels like there is constant oil rains over the plant.

Domestic machines were also used here once. Here is a machine from the Penza bicycle factory, which ceased to exist in 2016.

Once dismantling began, but did not continue.

Now this is a site of devastation.

In one workshop, which is located almost at the administrative building, life was found. Fresh papers, blanks and finished products. The most amazing thing is that it was in full cast. It seems that several employees revived a number of machines, which they use, and the rest continues to rot.

Strange for my understanding of the situation at the factory. On the one hand, the feeling that they are using it does not leave, on the other, everything is abandoned. I have been here in summer, winter, day and night. Insanely atmospheric place. I remember how in the largest workshop they played hide and seek at night. Still goosebumps from sensations.
