Casio released two anniversary models for the 35th anniversary of G-SHOCK

CASIO introduces the first G-SHOCK 5000 with an all-metal construction reflecting the legacy of the first G-SHOCK.

Casio has announced the release of another model in the G-SHOCK line. GMW-B5000 - the first watch with an all-metal case in the iconic square 5000 series.

Since the release of the first DW-5000C model in 1983, the 5000 series has remained true to the square shape that the watch originally had. This line has become very popular among followers of the brand and for many it is a symbol of the brand G-SHOCK.

The new GMW-B5000 pays tribute to the very first silhouette and at the same time expands the boundaries in different directions - from functionality to new materials and designs. External components, including the strap, case and dial, are made entirely of stainless steel. The watch also uses a new shockproof design with a rubber insert between the steel case and the dial, which absorbs shock.

As for the functional characteristics, the clock always shows the exact time anywhere in the world thanks to the Connected Engine technology, which connects to the exact time servers via a smartphone or via a time calibration radio signal. The watch is connected to the application for the smartphone G-SHOCK Connected, in which the user can familiarize themselves with the operating instructions and easily change some settings, for example, world clock and alarm clock.

The GMW-B5000TFG-9 model is specially created in honor of the 35th anniversary of G-SHOCK. The watch case uses gold ion plating, and the anniversary logo is engraved on the back. The model is placed in commemorative packaging.

Model GMW-B5000TFC-1 is developed in collaboration with leading Japanese baggage manufacturer Yoshida & Co., Ltd. The watch is released in a limited edition of 500 pieces, which are sold worldwide. The model is placed in a special case designed and manufactured by Yoshida under the Porter brand. The GMW-B5000TFC-1 is coated with a diamond-like carbon coating, and the logo for the 35th anniversary of G-SHOCK is engraved on the back.

Casio presents kolor × G-SHOCK watches

March 21, 2018 Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announced the release of a new model GMW-B5000KL. Casio G-SHOCK and Japanese clothing brand kolor present a collaboration model, released in an extremely limited edition of 700 pieces.

The Japanese brand kolor, founded in 2004, has received recognition both at home and abroad. The avant-garde images of the fashion brand, as well as the painstaking approach to sewing and choosing materials, served as an impetus for cooperation with G-SHOCK, for which the pursuit of modern technologies and the search for design solutions are key tasks.

Limited watches are made on the basis of the GMW-B5000 with a cult square case. The novelty is made of two different materials: the module and the bezel are made of stainless steel, and the strap is made of polymer. The appearance of the GMW-B5000KL is due to the vision of the kolor brand, which consists in combining various textures. Therefore, the watch received two coatings: gold and black in the original kolor technique. The GMW-B5000KL is adorned with the G-SHOCK 35th anniversary emblem on the back and the kolor logo on the strap holder.

A functional feature is the Connected Engine module, which receives radio signals and connects via a smartphone to the exact time servers. This ultimately allows you to automatically and as accurately as possible determine the current time, regardless of location. In addition to this, the developers prepared an application for the G-SHOCK Connected phone, in which you can find instructions for working with the clock, quickly change the world time and set up alerts.

Key features: shock resistance, water resistance up to 200 bar, Bluetooth, LED-backlight, automatic calendar, countdown timer, stopwatch with speed indicator and 12/24 hour format, world time and watch search functions.

About kolor: Japanese designer Yunichi Abe graduated from the prestigious Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo and worked with Yohji Yamamoto and Junia Watanabe for Comme des Garçons in 2004 to establish their own kolor brand. For the first time, the designer presented his Spring / Summer collection in 2005, and in 2009 opened his own store in Tokyo. Yunichi Abe showed the debut collection Autumn / Winter 2012 at the Paris Fashion Week. A year later (2013), Abe became the chief guest designer at the Pitti Uomo 84 exhibition, where he introduced the Spring / Summer 2014 men's collection. The concept of kolor is based on the use of simple silhouettes and basic colors. The designer combines dissimilar materials and places emphasis on fabrics and textures.
