How much is a vacation in Rhodes

When we gather somewhere, the question often arises: "How much money to take?" With accommodation and flights, everything is clear, all prices are visible immediately, but it’s much more difficult to find out the internal prices for food, transport, tickets, excursions. We have to delve into the forums, look for someone who was there and remembers something. And as practice shows, all that is not recorded is quickly forgotten.

So I decided now to record prices during my travels. Today, a post with prices on the island of Rhodes, where I recently rested with my family. Rhodes is not the cheapest of the Greek islands, but also not the most expensive. Prices here are a bit bite, but quite acceptable, you can relax quite budget.

So, how much is on the island of Rhodes (relevant for August 2017):

Let's start from the beach. The beaches are all free, but if you want comfort in the shade, you will have to pay for a sunbed. You can buy an umbrella, bedding or an air mattress in the store and lie on the sand absolutely free. By the way, in some hotels umbrellas and bedding can be taken for free, tourists very often buy and leave them in hotels. Use it!

Sunbed + umbrella (on the beach) - 5 euros per day (for 1 person)

Umbrella (in the store) - 5 euros

Air mattress (in store) - 5 euros

Straw litter (in store) - 2 euros

Now a little about tickets for attractions:

Water park - 24 adults, 16 - a child (older than 3 years). Our girl was 3 and a half years old, they did not require a document, they let me go for free).

Lindos Fortress - 12

Filerimos (cross on the mountain) - 6

Butterflies - 5

Farm - 5.5

Palace of Masters (Museum) - 6

Museum in Rhodes - 5

Asklipio (Museum) - 1.5

Symi Island - from 25 euros (full boat trip with 2 stops)

I cannot name the cost of group tours in Rhodes, because we drove everywhere by car. But on average they cost somewhere between 20-30 euros per person.

To drink and drink (in shops):

Beer - from 1 to 1.5 euros

Water - from 0.5 per bottle

Water 10 L - 2.5 Euros at the supermarket

Sugar soda (cola / fanta / sprite) - don't drink this stuff!

Bottled wine - from 5 euros

Wine in bags - 2 euros per liter

Food in stores - I can’t say, we ate in taverns.

In the tavern (cafe, restaurant):

I write prices in the most ordinary taverns, where it is tasty and inexpensive. The portions are large and, as a rule, 1 serving is enough for 2 adults.

The average bill for 2 adults + 1 child with wine came out on average - 20-30 euros.

Musaka - 8 euros

Kleftiko (lamb stew) - 8 euros

Salad (Greek) - 4-5 euros

Saganaki (fried cheese) - 4 euros

Dolma - 4 euros

Pastizio - 8 euros

Fish - depends on weight and rarity. On average, it goes somewhere around 15-20 euros a big fish for 2

Meze (meat or seafood) - 15-20 euros (for 2 you can gobble up, for 3 it’s normal, but if you take something else, then for 4 it’s enough)

Beer (glass) - 2-3

Wine (draft) - 10-12 euros per liter

Wine (0.7 bottle) - from 10 euros

Tip: how to choose an inexpensive cafe? I took moussaka - the most common dish that is everywhere. So, if a moussaka costs 8 euros (or less), then this is a normal (at a price) cafe, if 10 (or higher) - let's go look for something else)

Transport

In Rhodes, public transport in the form of regular buses is well developed. They go often, buses are good with kondeem, the price is normal:

Rhodes Faliraki Bus - 2.5 Euros (ride 40 minutes)

Lindos Faliraki Bus - 4.5 Euros (travel more than an hour)

Taxis drive here at set rates. If you call a taxi to a hotel / restaurant / airport, etc., then a call will take another +2 euros. Uber or something similar and cheap in Rhodes, alas, no. Here are the taxi fares from Rhodes with a map for clarity:

As elsewhere in Greece, it is convenient to rent a car and go around the whole island on your own. 3 days is enough, but if you want to ride on different beaches, you can take a week. The price depends on the season and the car itself. We were in August - these are the highest prices. The usual Russian rights are enough, nobody demands international. I have never seen the police, the cameras are full.

Car rental (A class) - 40 Euro / day

C-class - 60 euros

Family minivan (6-8 people) - 80 euros

Gasoline - 1.6-1.7 euro / liter

Well, if you suddenly decide to boo and swim in the sea, then:

Yacht rental - from 500 euros per day (for 4 people), a larger yacht for a company up to 8 bodies - from 1000 euros. Behind the yacht, you must go to the port of Rhodes, there is darkness!

Prices in Rhodes, though rather big, are pretty good and even cheap for the old woman of Europe. For 2 weeks for a family (not including hotel fees) we had enough of 1000 euros, including car rental, water park, tickets, beach, food, souvenirs and everything else. I don’t think that somewhere in Sochi it would have taken less)

In general, now you know how much it is in Rhodes. And on the neighboring islands everything is about the same.
